Job Description:
Coordinates and communicates effectively and appropriately with project stakeholders including other project team members, clients, vendors, building management, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors to convey project information in a timely and accurate manner.
Deliverables:
- Prepares, develops and produces project drawings in tandem with the Senior Designer and/or Project Manager; project drawings include furniture plans, custom furniture drawings, elevations and millwork, lighting plans and custom decorative finish drawings using CAD.
- Prepares, develops and produces project documentation in tandem with the Senior Designer and/or Project Manager; project documentation includes room schemes, room sheets and schedules (including paint, lighting, hardware, window treatment, electrical plate / switch plate, plumbing and tile schedules). Updates documentation throughout project life cycle.
- Accurately and efficiently produces client proposals and vendor purchase orders using Studio Designer software.
- Places final orders on behalf of client and expedites long-lead items to ensure timely delivery.
- Requests samples, places holds and reserves, and requests estimates from trades and vendors.
- Arranges, coordinates and accepts deliveries and shipping for decorative items. Inspects items upon receipt and arranges remediation if required.
- Coordinate deliveries to project sites and warehouse storage facility.
- Labels and maintains fabric and material samples pertaining to a project; assists in organizing the sample library.
- Maintains digital project files in accordance with studio standards.
- Attends, participates and contributes to meetings – whether internal or with clients, contractors, sub-contractors or vendors – by preparing agendas, taking meeting notes and preparing meeting minutes.
- Shops in person with client as required.
- Attend site visits and installation as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate possesses a high taste level and has knowledge of high-end market. Follows and speaks to current industry trends on space, function, decorative lighting, fabrics, furniture and equipment, etc.
- Practices exceptional time management skills and handles multiple project deadlines.
- Makes decisions and communicates clearly in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly presentable, intelligent, confident and discreet with an outgoing, upbeat and confident demeanor.
- Goal and detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proficient in the use of Studio Designer, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office and hand-sketching.
- Possess foundational knowledge of interior design principles/practices.
- A bachelor’s degree in interior design.
- At least 1 year of work experience with Interior Design and/or Architectural Firms.
- Travel is required.
