Job Description

Manages multiple design projects end-to-end; oversees the execution of design intent from project outset to completion. Coordinates and communicates effectively and appropriately with project stakeholders including other project team members, clients, vendors, building management, consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors to convey project information in a timely and accurate manner.

Deliverables:
- Prepares, develops and produces project drawings in tandem with firm leadership, Senior Designer and/or Design Assistant; project drawings include furniture plans, custom furniture drawings, elevations and millwork drawings, lighting plans and custom decorative finish drawings using CAD and hand drawings.
- Prepares, develops and produces project documentation in tandem with the Senior Designer and/or Design Assistant; project documentation includes room schemes, room sheets and schedules (including paint, lighting, hardware, window treatment, electrical plate / switch plate, plumbing and tile schedules). Updates documentation throughout project life cycle.
- Establishes a high/low budget at project outset for client approval; updates project budget through the project life cycle.
- Sources, selects and specifies furniture, window treatments, drapery, fabrics, wall covering, wall treatments, lighting, carpeting, regular painting, decorative painting, decorative finishes, decorative art (non-collectable) and accessories as required for the project in accordance with the budget.
- Compiles weekly status reports and is prepared to discuss the status of all orders on all projects at weekly staff meeting.
- Accurately and efficiently produces or oversees production of client proposals and vendor purchase orders using Studio Designer software.
- Oversees placement of final orders on behalf of client and expedites long-lead items to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinates deliveries to project sites and warehouse storage facility in tandem with Design Assistant.

The ideal candidate possesses a high taste level and has knowledge of high-end market. Follows and speaks to current industry trends on space, function, decorative lighting, fabrics, furniture and equipment, etc.

- Practices exceptional time management skills and handles multiple project deadlines.
- Shows range in sourcing at various price points.
- Makes decisions, problem-solves and communicates clearly in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates conflict resolution.
- Highly presentable, intelligent, confident and discreet with an outgoing, upbeat and confident demeanor.
- Effectively manages and delegates tasks; provides constructive criticism when necessary.
- Goal and detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Fluent in the use of Studio Designer, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office and hand-sketching.
- Possess foundational knowledge of interior design principles/practices.
- A bachelor’s degree in interior design.
- At least 3-5 years of work experience with Interior Design and/or Architectural Firms.
- Travel is required.
