What’s the inspiration behind the new collection?
Southern California’s casual elegance and calming colors.
What was the starting point for this collection?
Becki Owens exudes a cool, casual confidence in her approachable designs, and we wanted to emulate that feeling with the unique pieces in this collaboration. She loves to have stand-out designs that make a statement. A few pieces were inspired by vintage tables, updated with warm stains for a modern touch.
How did the collaboration come about?
Our partnership with Becki Owens began in 2022, starting with rugs and naturally expanding into furniture. The response from designers and retailers across all categories has been very positive. We wanted to provide a wide range of price points to service the needs of various consumers.
What piece are you most excited to unveil?
Hermosa is an exciting new bedroom collection featuring a warm honey finish along with rattan and hobnail details. The exaggerated height of the headboard creates a true focal point. In addition, the nightstands offer a pull-out tray, as well as charging ports on the back. Soft-close drawers lined with velvet round out this special collection.
We are also very proud of the Atra dining collection, which features unique wrapped-leather detailing on the chairs, benches and large buffet. It was a labor of love to get the warm finish with a slight gray-wash undertone just right to highlight the leather accents.
Tell us about the materials in this collection. Are there certain details that distinguish different pieces?
In addition to leather wrapping, hobnail details and rattan, we worked with solid wood and veneers. The Altos console, for instance, is made of solid oak finished with a light wire brushing to add depth to the wood. It also features wide integrated handles and dovetail drawers with soft-close glides. Marble is a key material that Becki likes to integrate into her designs. We kept it all in warm tones of cream with unique striations that range from tan to light green.
How do you envision designers using this collection?
The scale of this collection is intended to work in many homes, and will amply fill large spaces. We see this as a fresh assortment that designers will use as conversation-starting pieces in their projects.
